About us

Outstanding service in all respects. The school gives young people an opportunity to experience education and school life as a positive part of their lives.
Ofsted Care Inspection 2011

Hamilton Lodge is a Special School and College for Deaf Children with many pupils being week day boarders. Our students come from across the south and as far afield as Manchester.

We are in Brighton within a ten minute walk to the sea in one direction, and the new South Downs National Park in another. We have excellent bus links to the train station and city centre.

We cater for pupils from 5 to 19 years old and have a Child Centred Approach to communication using English and British Sign Language.

The school has been commended for its quality of care and offers pupils the opportunity to reach their potential through maintaining a positive approach, removing barriers to communication, providing good role models and celebrating achievement.
