Our current fundraising project - Laser Cutter |
We are currently in the process of raising funds for a laser cutter which will enable our DT department to achieve the CAD/CAM requirement. This is now an integral part of both KS3 and KS4 Curriculum. CAD/CAM is computer aided design and computer aided manufacture. Laser cutters will cut a wide range of plastics very accurately leaving a smooth finish. They will also cut wood, MDF, paper, card, cloth etc. They will engrave or mark all these materials and others such as glass, slate, ceramics etc. Great results can be achieved making exciting and engaging lessons. The purchasing of a laser cutter will ensure that all our pupils have an equal chance of achievement in a subject that they can have the capability to do well in. Giving pupils the opportunities to produce desirable and well made quality products in line with mainstream schools is a must. We need to raise around £15,000 to purchase a laser cutter.
