The School had an Ofsted Care Inspection on 16th March 2010. The reporting social care inspector was Mr Paul Taylor. The inspection was carried out under the Care Standards Act 2000.

Ofsted judged the overall quality rating to be 'outstanding'.

The School had a combined Ofsted inspection on 25th and 26th November 2008. The inspection was carried out by two additional inspectors, working alongside two social care inspectors, who were responsible for making judgements on the quality of the boarding provision. The reporting inspector was Mr Mike Kell.

Ofsted judged Hamilton Lodge School to be a 'good' school with many outstanding features.
