VIPs, cakes and cyclists! Our summer fete and bike ride 2018

Our Fete and Bike Ride events on Saturday 23rd June were a huge success. We had perfect sunny weather.

Deaf-accessible city

We had two VIP guests, the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Dee Simson and, Lloyd Russell-Moyle who is our MP.

They both praised the staff and students for their efforts in volunteering to create a really fun event.

They also took time to praise our college student, Ayeshaa, on her efforts to make public services in the city more accessible for deaf people by encouraging the council to sign the BSL charter.

The Mayor, Cllr Dee Simson with Ayeshaa.
Lloyd Russell-Moyle MP for Kemptown, Brighton congratulates Ayeshaa on her achievements

Pedal to the Pebbles

The bike ride – Pedal to the Pebbles is the only deaf friendly bike ride that we know of, and the Mayor was there to greet the first riders to return to the school all the way from Surrey.

Summer fete fun

From the brilliant BBQ and cake stall, the bouncy castle, stalls from Deaf Community organisations to our floral crown making we had so much fun. We hope you enjoy our pictures.
